The Bronson Pinchot Project

The DIY Channel

We have been highlighting British shows recently for a reason.  Even though we have super home renovation shows here in the US on HGTV and The DIY Network, many of them deal with house ‘fixing up’ (which we love!) but we want to bring your attention to homes that have a bit more history, architecture and construction projects to them.

This week, we’d like to highlight a series that first aired in 2013 and 2014 called the Bronson Pinchot Project.  Bronson, an actor of Beverly Hills Cop and Perfect Strangers fame, is knowledgable about historical architecture, construction and design. He takes his home, the 1839 mansion of former State Senator, Edward Jones and restores and decorates it, actually a few times over. Bronson repurposes, reuses and does some pretty crazy things to this house, some of which will surprise, delight or shock you.

Bronson went on to work on several other homes in his small Pennsylvania town only to fall to the same fate as many other restoration enthusiasts. His dreams got ahead of his checkbook.  He’s since divested himself of all of the properties and is currently starring in the series, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina as the High School Principal.
