Interior Designer Mario Buatta, a major force and leader in the English Country Style died in October leaving his personal collection of fine art and decorative objects, which will be auctioned in a 2-day event at Sotheby's, New York.

Dubbed, 'The Prince of Chintz", he was influenced by Colefax & Fowler and Sister Parish. His clients ranged from Barbara Walters to Blair House, the President's guest quarters in Washington, DC.

A public viewing of the collection will be held on January 16th at Sotheby's.
